Depression, Grief, and Loss Therapy in Albany, CA
Grief and loss can affect every part of your life emotionally, physically, mentally, and relationally. Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, a major life transition, or another painful experience, grief can leave you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, hopeless, or alone.
Many individuals struggling with grief or depression describe feeling stuck in sadness, fear, anger, numbness, or emotional isolation. At times, it may feel difficult to engage in daily life, connect with others, or imagine moving forward. Grief can also place strain on relationships, as people cope with loss in very different ways.
Healing from grief does not mean forgetting the person or minimizing the significance of the loss. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to process painful emotions, make sense of the loss, and gradually adjust to life in the absence of what or whom has been lost. Over time, individuals can begin to reconnect with themselves, their relationships, and life in meaningful ways while continuing to honor the significance of their loss.
I utilize trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Lifespan Integration to help individuals process grief, loss, depression, and unresolved emotional pain.
Although grief and healing look different for every person, support and recovery are possible. You do not have to go through the process alone.
